2012 Grand National Hospitality

The three day John Smith's Grand National Meeting held each year at Liverpool's Aintree racecourse always attracts a huge crowd. Thrills and spills are guaranteed as the jockeys entice every last ounce of effort from their horses as they tackle probably horseracing's most demanding obstacles.

Whilst the occasional racing fan focuses on the Grand National on Saturday of the meeting, these are three of the best National Hunt race days in the whole year. Thursday is Liverpool Day and this celebrates with a full range of entertainment from the city. Not only does the entertainment commence before a great card of top class racing, it also continues after racing with a well-known band normally playing in the Aintree Pavilion. Friday is Ladies Day and this brings fashion to the fore with a series of great fashions shows and competitions. The racing is once again of the highest quality with the Melling Chase and the Sefton Novices' Hurdle being the Grade 1 races on the day.

And so to Grand National Day itself and whilst all eyes are on the 40 runners who line up for the four and a half mile contest, it is not the highest rated race of the day! The John Smith's Grand National Chase is a Grade 3 handicap, whilst there are better rated horse in most of the other races on the day. Both the Aintree Hurdle and the Maghull Novice's Chase are Grade 1 races. So don't think that the racing is just about one race - there's so much more to enjoy at Aintree.

The facility is located very close to the Parade Ring so you'll have easy access to watch the horses circle before each race. The glass-fronted marquee is in a lawned enclosure right next to the Red Rum statue. Your hospitality is within 100 yards of the racecourse itself.

It's not called the Bob Champion Suite for nothing. The great man himself will be your host. Who can forget his famous win in 1981 on Aldaniti withthe horse battling with leg injuries and the jockey battling cancer. You will receive general admission and a County Lawn badge as part of the packgae enabling you to have great viewing from raised terracing in front of the County Stand.
